Let’s get back to experiencing performing art at its best - live and in the moment! (Nobody likes watching a show through the phone of the person in front of them anyway).

Meta Ray-Bans & other brand AI surveillance glasses are strictly prohibited at all YWAC events. Due to the intentionally concealed nature of these recording devices and potential for mass data scraping, wearing or bringing these to an event comes with an immediate level of distrust. You will have the opportunity to participate in a ritual destroying of the glasses, or be asked to leave. We’re not joking.

Anyone attempting to conceal the nature of the glasses to bypass this rule (e.g. covering the recording light) will receive a permanent ban.

Filming & photography: film or photography of performers is only permitted with explicit consent of the performer, event or venue staff. Most of our events have filming & photography of the performances pre-arranged and sometimes audience members are visible. Please let event staff filming know if you have privacy concerns.

Know your limits. Most of our events are in licenced venues where alcohol is served. If you’re cut off or asked to leave by venue staff, don’t make it weird (derogatory) babes. Head on home safely & politely and we’ll see you next time.

Refusing to leave, aggressive, abusive, or belligerent behaviour will not be tolerated.

Part of caring for each other is caring for each others health. Please don’t attend if you’re sick. If nobody turns up sick, nobody gets sick!

Unless noted at point of ticket sale, masks are not mandatory but always welcome and encouraged. As is combined RAT testing & hand washing with soap. (Do we even need to say that? Apparently so.)

The backbone of our arts, entertainment & hospitality industry are gig workers and casual staff who will lose a lot more than a night out if they catch your cold.

Immune compromised & disabled folks also deserve to feel safe in our audiences and in our team too.

Obviously not everyone knows they’re sick at the time of leaving the house and we aren’t judging anyone for not knowing. Be excellent & let your conscience be your guide.

Wonderful! We want you to have the best time and part of that is knowing what you can expect of a YWAC affiliated event.

Audience Interaction: We know that lots of people can have anxiety around what to expect at a show where performers might interact with them. Our shows can often be intimate, intense, interactive and unexpected, but none of our artists want to make you feel overwhelmed in a bad way!

They use non-verbal and verbal consent cues but they cannot mind read & need your help. If you are feeling overwhelmed or overstimulated when a performer is initiating interaction, give them a clear verbal and physical “no thankyou”. The “no deal” symbol with your arms is an extra clear one!

If you are particularly worried about interaction, or have any access needs to discuss, please contact us when booking to discuss with us ahead of time.

Please note that breaching our code of conduct at any YWAC event could result in a verbal warning, being asked to leave without refund, temporary or permanent banning from our events.

Make sure you have a read of our Code of Conduct policies above as they apply to everyone at our events. Audience, venue staff, event staff and artists.

Couple of key no-brainers for any event:

- Respect the venue staff
- Read the audience vibe & watch for body language/verbal cues
- Respect the sanctity of the dressing room/green room (no non-artist/staff/crew backstage, no filming without consent)
- Maintain professionalism while on the clock
- Know we have your back (make sure you know your event point of contact)
